The Great Gatsby question?

So the first thing to realize is the distance....how far can Gatsby see from his window? Also, what would constitute abuse in Gatsby's eyes so what is he looking for? Another thing to realize is that Gatsby is not that innocent himself, after all he does want an affair. It is a little creepy that he is staring at a window...seems a little tomish.
