How to help Pain and stop sticking?

So, my little sister is 5 and i was bringing the hot cup of tea to my mom and she had just told my little sister to ask me if i was still making her tea. unable to control her running she ran into me and got 2nd and 1st degree burns. We went to the doctor and in the morning and at night we have to put on Mupirocin and gauze pads with some tape on the sides to hold down the pads. It seems like its Healing pretty well. the burns are located from the middle left backside up the should and some around the neck all the way down to middle right of her tummy. But she got 1st degree burns on her neck. That's where it hurts her the most. Around her shoulder and neck. Would those parts still heal.? and how could we stop the gauze pad from sticking to her flesh (second degree burns). for pain we give her 1 teaspoon by mouth of acetaminophen/codeine
