My daughter who doesn't do drugs thinks it's ok to have friends who do drugs?

I was having a conversation with my daughter (13) last night about drugs and alcohol and she said that she thought it was ok to have, and hang around with friends/kids who do drugs, but still not do them herself. I told her it is ok to hang around with friends who smoke cigarettes (just don't start yourself) but definitely NOT one who does drugs. The difference is cigarettes aren't illegal, just very bad for you. Drugs are illegal and even if you don't do them, you will go down with those who do just for being there. However, I'm just her mom you know, I don't know anything. Can anyone help reinforce what I'm saying? Coming from others would be more believable. Thank you in advance for any help. Tanya :-)
